Calvary Health Care has entered into an agreement with the Archdiocese of Hobart to progress a proposed governance transition of Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT) to Calvary, subject to regulatory approvals and other required processes.
Southern Cross Care Tasmania has been supporting older Tasmanians for more than 50 years through residential aged care, retirement living and home care services. The proposed transition reflects the strong alignment between the two organisations and a shared commitment to delivering compassionate, high-quality care for older people across Tasmania.
Calvary Chief Executive Officer Damien Bruce said Calvary would be honoured to build on Southern Cross Care Tasmania's legacy of service to the community.
"Southern Cross Care Tasmania has a long and respected history of supporting older Tasmanians, and we would be honoured to continue supporting the communities they serve and build on their legacy."
There is no change to current operations for either organisation while the required approvals and processes are completed. Residents, clients and staff will continue to receive the same care, support and services.
