Calvary and NIB Group sign new deal benefiting patients

Calvary Health Care has welcomed a new three-year agreement that supports the sustainable delivery of necessary and mission-critical care for NIB members across the communities we serve.
Importantly, this is not just a simple agreement about payments for vital patient care, but rather a committed partnership to design new provider networks and support essential models of care; particularly palliative care, maternity and mental health services.
This agreement shows that insurers and private hospitals can collaborate on solutions that maintain the sustainability of private hospitals as a vital element of our Australian health ecosystem.
NIB members who entrust us with their care can be assured that we are working with their insurer with their best interests in mind, this includes ensuring patients have continued access to the many essential and critical services we provide in regional and rural communities.
Calvary Health Care has actively engaged in the Private Hospital Reform CEO round table but, has also heard the call from the Federal Health Minister for the sector to partner and find solutions that improves sustainability and viability of the private hospital sector.
We are excited about the joint strategic projects that form part of this new agreement and together leading broader reform.
Private hospitals have a critical role to play in the Australian health system providing consumers genuine choice for their care.
Calvary Health Care manages 10 private hospitals across Australia, often as the only private hospital in smaller states and territories and regional areas.
