Inpatient rehabilitation

On admission, our multidisciplinary team will work with you to develop an individualised rehabilitation plan based on your needs and recovery goals.
Depending on your needs, your care team may include a rehabilitation specialist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, dietitian, speech pathologist, discharge planner and diabetes educator.
During your stay, you’ll have access to our state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym. Your progress will be monitored throughout your rehabilitation, including through weekly multidisciplinary case conferences, so your program can be adapted as your recovery progresses.

Outpatient rehabilitation programs

Programs are individually tailored and delivered in a group setting Monday to Thursday in our state-of-the-art gym.
Cardiac rehabilitation
Our Phase II Cardiac Rehabilitation program supports people who have recently experienced a cardiac event or undergone cardiac surgery. The program combines exercise, lifestyle interventions and multidisciplinary education to help you make exercise part of everyday life, manage your condition and support your ongoing health and wellbeing.
Pulmonary rehabilitation
Our six-week Pulmonary Rehabilitation program supports people living with respiratory conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis and emphysema. The program includes strength and resistance training, aerobic exercise and education to help you better manage your condition. Education covers areas including medication management, breathing techniques and airway clearance.
Orthopaedic rehabilitation
Our Orthopaedic Rehabilitation program supports people recovering from joint replacement, fractures or spinal surgery. Your program focuses on rebuilding strength and endurance, improving mobility and helping you return to your highest possible level of function.
Reconditioning rehabilitation
Our Reconditioning Rehabilitation program supports people who have experienced a serious acute illness, are at risk of falls, or need support to improve their strength, endurance and balance. You do not need to have received your previous care at Calvary Holmesglen to participate in the program.

Getting started

Accessing outpatient rehabilitation

A referral from your GP or specialist is required to access our outpatient rehabilitation programs.
Most outpatient group programs may be covered by private health insurance, depending on your policy and level of cover. We recommend checking with your health fund about any costs that may apply.
