A key role of the Statewide Progressive Neurological Disease (PND) Service, in collaboration with community organisations like
MND Victoria, is to build the capacity of health services and health professionals to better manage the needs of people living with MND.
The Statewide PND Service at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem offers a range of interdisciplinary assessment, management and education services for people with a diagnosed PND.
PND services include but are not limited to: Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, multiple system atrophy, Parkinson’s disease, progressive supranuclear palsy, spinocerebellar ataxias and others.
Each of these conditions is relatively rare, and as a result community based health care services and clinicians may see very few people with these conditions in their daily practice.
