As the only private mental health facility in North Canberra, Hyson Green provides comprehensive care to residents throughout Canberra and surrounding districts.
Our facility offers both day programs and inpatient services, supporting over 500 patients annually with common mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
Nestled beside Calvary Bruce Private Hospital in a serene bush setting, our campus features a tranquil reflection pool, creating a peaceful healing environment for recovery and wellness.

Hyson Green offers comprehensive 21-day treatment programs where individuals can heal and recover in a safe and supportive environment.
Single occupancy rooms with private en-suites are available to all residential patients, providing complete comfort and privacy during your stay. We also offer a limited range of executive suites with separate living spaces.

Hyson Green is also home to consulting rooms, large dining and lounge rooms, therapy rooms, gymnasium and recreational facilities designed to promote wellness and relaxation.

Our voluntary day program offers patients in Canberra and surrounding districts an opportunity to treat common conditions such as anxiety and depression.
  • Day patient programs include both ongoing (open) and fixed-period (closed) groups.
  • Regular groups include the Overcoming Depression Program; Managing Anxiety Program (closed); and the Individual Mood Disorders Group (open).

The Hyson Green in-patient program runs group and individual therapy sessions incorporating:
  • cognitive behavioural therapy
  • dialectical behavioural therapy
  • assertiveness training
  • stress management
  • relaxation
  • yoga
  • grief and loss counselling
  • conflict resolution
  • self-esteem
  • communication skills
  • creative therapy
  • physical activities
  • mindfulness

Led by psychiatrist and Medical Director, Dr Rodney Blanch, the Hyson Green team is passionate about supporting patients to achieve their best possible outcomes, with high quality programs tailored to suit individual needs.
Our specialist psychiatrists are supported by a dedicated team of mental health nurses, social workers, counsellors, discharge planners, Aboriginal Liaison Officer, art therapists, exercise physiology, physiotherapists, mental health occupational therapist, dietitian, pastoral care, allied health assistants and psychologists:
