Roccoco Roos crowned 2026 Calvary Residential Aged Care Games champions
After weeks of friendly competition, creativity and celebration, the 2026 Calvary Residential Aged Care Games have come to an unforgettable close.

Congratulations to the Calvary Roccoco Aged Care Roccoco Roos, who have been crowned the 2026 Calvary Residential Aged Care Games champions.
Joining them on the podium were the Kingswood Kookaburras from Calvary Kingswood in South Australia, who claimed silver, and the Rosanna Ravens from Calvary Rosanna Views in Victoria, who took home bronze. Congratulations to all three teams on a fantastic achievement.
While there could only be one overall winner, this year's Games belonged to every resident, every Leisure and Lifestyle team and every one of our 57 Calvary Residential Aged Care homes. Together, they created something truly special.
Over the past several weeks, residents, families and staff came together to create team identities, design flags and torches, train for events and celebrate every achievement along the way.
There were opening ceremonies and team songs. Training sessions, moments of fierce determination, unexpected victories and plenty of friendly rivalry. There were medals won, personal bests celebrated and, most importantly, laughter.
Residents embraced every moment. They threw themselves into every challenge with their whole hearts. Friendships grew, confidence blossomed and homes came alive with cheering, encouragement and joy. Staff, families and residents embraced the excitement of being part of a team, trying something new and celebrating together.
The Games reminded us that residential aged care is still a place where life is lived to the fullest. There are new skills to learn, goals to chase, reasons to celebrate and moments that make you feel like a kid again. Fun has no age limit, and neither does the joy of belonging.
The Games also brought Calvary's PEARS Model to life, creating opportunities for meaningful participation, connection and joy in every home.
To every resident who put on a team shirt, rolled a bowl, threw a javelin, answered a quiz question, painted a masterpiece, danced, laughed, encouraged a teammate or simply gave something new a go, thank you. You made these Games what they were and reminded us all that the best moments are often the ones we share.
To our incredible Leisure and Lifestyle teams, thank you for dreaming big and bringing this vision to life. Your creativity, passion and unwavering dedication transformed an idea into a national celebration that united 57 homes and created countless moments of joy. You inspired residents to step outside their comfort zones, cheer each other on and discover just how much fun they could have together. These Games wouldn't have happened without you.
And to everyone who followed along, cheered from afar and celebrated our residents throughout the Games, thank you for being part of the journey. Your encouragement helped make this celebration even more special.
Until next time.
