The da Vinci® Xi is used for many of the acute complex cancer related cases in which Calvary North Adelaide specialises, including urology, colorectal, gynaecology and head and neck surgeries. Robotic technology allows us to continue our focus on complex cancer specialties and expands the clinical service offerings available for our medical community and their patients.

The da Vinci® system allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive, highly accurate laparoscopic surgery, supported by Calvary North Adelaide’s onsite Level 2 ICU.

The da Vinci® Xi that features innovative two-metre-long arms, a central operating tower and a surgeon’s console has now been used a number of times for a range of surgical procedures, including, colorectal, abdominal, hepato-billary and ENT. The first gynaecological case will be performed in February.

There are many people who are critical to the success of seamlessly integrating this latest technology. These people come from all areas of the health service both clinical and non-clinical. As a result, all of our patients who have undergone robotic surgery to date are enjoying best practice outcomes that come hand in hand with the very best facilities and care.
