Calvary joins Violet in shared mission to improve planning for the last stages of life

This Carers Week, Calvary Health Care is encouraging people to tackle the often uncomfortable topic of end-of-life care, setting the challenge to have open and honest conversations.

To support this mission, Calvary Flora McDonald Aged Care in Adelaide and Calvary Health Care Bethlehem in Caulfield South hosted Violet to showcase its online planning tool, Care Compass, which engages people to do just that.

Calvary National Director, Mission and People, Mark Green, said there was a need for more support in the community when planning for end-of-life.

“We welcome Violet’s launch of Care Compass, as it is another way to help individuals and their loved ones prepare and not feel overwhelmed,” Mr Green said.

“During Carers Week, it is important to highlight that open and honest conversations need to happen, even when they can be tough. The Care Compass helps guide people through the process and identify what decisions need to be made when people are planning the last stages of their life.”

"No one should have to guess what matters most in the moments that matter. Violet’s Care Compass changes the starting point,” Violet CEO, Melissa Reader, said.

“It’s a simple, values-first free planning tool that captures what matters most in 15 minutes. It helps families start kitchen-table conversations rather than delaying to harried hospital hallway decisions, and this can be the most loving gift you give your loved ones.

“It turns hard conversations into clear guidance for families and care teams."
