Calvary Aged Care provides training and development for hospitality workers in South Australia
Staged over a two-week period from Friday, 11 July, the four mandatory all-day workshops are an opportunity for both Adelaide and regional hospitality staff working in aged care to build their knowledge of contemporary practices and updates.
South Australian Regional Services Manager, David Purdue, said the workshops, hosted at Calvary Flora McDonald at Cowandilla, brought everyone together to receive the same valuable face-to-face training.
“They are essential for Calvary to be able to explain and demonstrate new practices and ways of working from both internal experts and external suppliers,” said Mr Purdue.
“Topics include revised basic food handling training, a housekeeping update, and chemical and cleaning training, covering all aspects of Calvary hospitality.”
“This is the third time we have done this model of training and having both presenters and participants in the same room really opens the dialogue and provides focused support,” he said.
General Manager for Aged Care in South Australia, Ryan Midgeley, said the workshops significantly increased participants’ retention of new knowledge.
The workshops continue till Friday, 25 July.
