ANU is a long time affiliate of Calvary Public Hospital Bruce in ACT. As a teaching hospital, located in the northern suburbs of Canberra, the hospital has hosted ANU Medical School students for more than 17 years.

“Calvary Public Hospital Bruce is an exceptional facility with a contemporary, team-based care approach where, together, we already train world-class doctors.”

“However Calvary cares for people across hospitals, aged care facilities and community care in the home. This makes them uniquely placed as a model health system to consider new ways of better supporting patients in their community,” he said.

“This will provide new and exciting opportunities for students, clinicians, managers and researchers with interests in health system innovation.”

Martin Bowles AO, National Chief Executive Officer, Calvary Health Care said, “With a formalised relationship, we’ll be able to leverage our national operations.”

“We will benefit from closer collaboration on issues that are of strategic interest to Calvary, and be able to draw on the capacity and expertise across ANU disciplines. That includes opportunities to inform new models of care, clinical leadership, data analytics and delivering value-based health care.”

ANU is interested in consolidating links with organisations and agencies with an interest in health to contribute to its nation building agenda.

Calvary is responsible for over 12,000 staff and volunteers, 14 Public and Private Hospitals, 17 Retirement and Aged Care Facilities and a national network of Community Care Centres across Australia including in ACT, Northern Territory, NSW, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.
