We want to ensure your stay with Calvary North Adelaide Hospital is as comfortable as possible. Our accommodation is spacious enough for a partner or support person to stay as well, and all rooms have ensuite bathrooms. When available we offer a choice of double bedrooms, and some of our rooms have spectacular views of North Adelaide and the city. Please note that the allocation of rooms is subject to availability, planned method of delivery, and the outcome of labour.
In addition to our general patient menu, we also offer a bespoke maternity menu, which includes delicious options that can be delivered to the maternity unit or patient room outside of normal meal times. This flexibility ensure that new mothers and their support person can enjoy a nutritious meal or snack whatever time they may need it.
To assist you in the preparation of your hospital stay we encourage you to contact your health fund provider to determine the level of cover you have and any excess payments that may apply. You may also wish to ask them about appropriate health cover for your baby/babies in the event they need to be admitted into our Special Care Nursery.
Your private hospital health insurance will cover the following for obstetric care:
Accommodation fee
Nursing care
Labour ward and theatre fee
Antenatal classes
We can arrange for self-funding patients to obtain a quote from our Accounts department which must be paid in full before admission. Please phone 08 8239 9236 or 08 8239 9138 to discuss.
Additional fees may apply for the following services:
Antenatal classes for self-insured patients
CTG monitoring (if required)
Overnight boarding fee for a support person that wishes to stay with you whilst you are in hospital
Special Care Nursery: you will need to contact your health fund to arrange appropriate health cover for your baby/babies in the event they need to be admitted into our Special Care Nursery. Your baby’s treatment will not be covered by your health fund if your policy is for ‘singles cover’ only. In the event you have a multiple pregnancy, the second baby will be invoiced with a separate individual account.
Post-natal clinics after discharge from hospital
Specialists’ fees
Health funds do not cover all of the Obstetrician’s or Paediatrician’s fees, so you will receive a separate account from their practice. The amount will depend on the individual fees of that specialist.
