We recognise that these Custodians have walked upon and cared for these lands for thousands of years. We acknowledge the continued deep spiritual attachment and relationship of First Nations peoples to this country and commit ourselves to the ongoing journey of Reconciliation.

Patricia Browne and Toby

news-main image-Hospitals
Patricia Browne and Toby have been volunteering at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem for nearly ten years. A pet therapy dog, Toby visits patients on the ward once or twice a week.
Pat says she loves her volunteering work with Toby. The highlight for her is seeing the joy and the smiles on patients when Toby visits. “He seems to know the patients better than I do and he has a great calming influence on them” Pat says.
“Our patients are dealing with confronting illnesses but after they meet Toby, you can see the see a lift in them each time we visit” she says.

Narelle – Palliative Care
I work as a palliative care Community Volunteer at Calvary Kogarah. The reason I became a volunteer was because my older sister died of ovarian cancer. As I lived in another state and was working full time, I was unable to care and be there for her and her husband in the way that the volunteers through Calvary ACT were able to be.
