Celebrating Eighty Years at Lenah Valley
From the 24th November 2020, Calvary Lenah Valley and Calvary St John’s hospitals are lit up in blue to mark Calvary Lenah Valley Hospital’s rich heritage in the lead up to our 80th Anniversary on 15 December.
2020 is a significant for our heritage on both Calvary Hobart sites: eighty years at Lenah Valley but it’s also the 120th year of health care at Cascade Road, St John’s – 20 years of those as a Calvary Hospital.
1938 – 0ur History and Heritage began
The needs of greater Hobart, in the decade which began with the austerities of the Great Depression and ended with the anxieties of World War Two, was a demanding time to commence a hospital.
2020 – Robotic Surgery a firm favourite for more than 100 patients

Celebrating 80 years and our 300th Open Heart surgery patient
Our 300th open heart surgery patient, Mr Hugh Ross (79) of Relbia in Northern Tasmania, was admitted within three weeks of his recent diagnosis.
