In 2026, Calvary Health Care Kogarah proudly celebrates 60 years of caring for our community.
Since opening on 22 May 1966, the hospital has supported thousands of patients and families at some of life’s most vulnerable moments, delivering care grounded in compassion, dignity and respect.
Founded through a generous bequest from Miss Sarah Fitzgerald and established by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary Kogarah began as Australia’s first purpose-built hospital dedicated to care for the dying.
Over the decades it has grown into a leading centre for palliative care and rehabilitation, serving communities across the St George and Sutherland Shires.
Our 60th anniversary is a time to reflect on the people, partnerships and generosity that have shaped our journey, while looking ahead to the future of care in our community.
Throughout the year, we will bring this milestone to life through shared stories, community activities and opportunities for our community to join the celebration.
