Gifts and bequests
Making a difference at Calvary St Luke’s Hospital
Donated funds go towards improving facilities for our patients, and visitors. They can also go towards our Calvary Community Council. The Council provides grants of up to $5000 to local community groups through two grant rounds per year. The Council also supports the Tasmanian Mary Potter Foundation. In 1994 under the auspices of The Little Company of Mary, Calvary Health Care Tasmania established a service to provide a unique healthcare service for those in need of hospital care who may not be able to access the facilities of Calvary Health Care Tasmania for reason of economic hardship.
Many of our supporters choose to leave a gift or bequest to us in their will. Areas of benefit include:
- general medicine
- alcohol and drug services
- palliative care
Bequests can also be used to assist with the promotion of positive community attitudes towards the necessity and desire of quality health care. Your contribution will go on helping us through the 21st century. Your contribution can be a fixed amount or a percentage of your estate. You can nominate to assist in the general provision of our services or your bequest can be directed towards a specific unit, project or type of service.
How to make a bequest
To assist in the preparation of a bequest may we advise the following wording:
I (name), give ($amount) free of all duties and testamentary expense to Calvary St Luke’s Hospital for the purpose of patient care/service development, and I direct that the receipt of the Chief Executive Officer shall be sufficient discharge of my executors for this bequest.
