Surgical Outpatient Services
Our Surgical Outpatient Services at Calvary Mater Newcastle provide a range of clinics to our surgical patients which include the following:
- Surgery Clinics: Surgeons and Registrars
– General surgery – such as hernia repairs, gall bladder removal
– Breast cancer surgery
– Upper gastrointestinal surgery
- Melanoma Unit Clinic: Surgeons and Registrars
– Appointments for patients with a diagnosis of melanoma
– Patients that require surgery in an Operating Theatre
– Patients that can have minor surgery in Surgical Outpatient Services
- Breast Reconstruction Clinic: Plastic Surgeons
– Breast Reconstruction Clinic for patients that have or have had breast cancer
- McGrath Breast Care Nurse Clinic: McGrath Breast Care Nurses provide education, support and wound management
- Stomal Therapy Wound Management: Stomal Therapy Wound Management Nurses provide care to patients with a stoma and complex wound management
- Wound Clinics: provided by the Nursing Staff for patients who have undergone surgery
Our Surgical Outpatient Services building is located in the Mater Institute building (sign posted Surgical Outpatient Services) located on Platt Street, Waratah. The building is located opposite the main hospital’s Platt Street entrance and next to our P2 Car Park (Platt Street).
