Visiting arrangements at Calvary Mater Newcastle have changed during the coronavirus pandemic to help protect our patients, staff and the community from COVID-19.
Changed visiting arrangements – Red Alert – Visitor Restrictions
There will be no visitors allowed, effective from 2pm, Friday 6 August until further notice.
There will be exceptions for compassionate reasons: one visitor per day, for those at end of life or in a critical condition, or outpatient appointments to provide direct physical support or assistance with decision making.
No one will be able to enter the hospital if they:
- Have had contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days or been asked to self-isolate by a health professional
- Been to any of the locations or travelled on nominated public transport routes, during the time and date indicated by NSW Health
- Have any of these symptoms – fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, body aches, sore or scratchy throat, headache, runny nose, muscle pain, vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, or loss of smell or taste
- Have a temperature more than 37.5oC
