We offer a range of amenities at Calvary Health Care Kogarah including:

Calvary Health Care Kogarah has been designed so that everyone can easily access our facilities, using inclined walkways and ramps throughout. All levels of our hospital are accessible by lifts.

We have clear, straightforward signage throughout the hospital to make it easier to find your way around. The signage uses contrasting colours to help people with impaired vision.

Wheelchairs are available for use while at the hospital.

We provide all patients with free-to-air television at their bedside.

The Café is located on the ground floor.

Opening hours are 7am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm Saturday.

The Chapel of the Resurrection at Calvary Health Care Kogarah is open during daylight hours and provides a calm and peaceful place for all patients, staff and visitors. People of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel.

A multi –faith room is located in the west wing on the 2nd floor and is open 24 hours a day. Patients, carers and staff of all faiths are welcome to pray and spend some time there.

The Calvary Kogarah pastoral care team is available to support requests for spiritual care. Your local minister of religion is welcome to visit during your stay.

Calvary Health Care Kogarah has a 35 square metre hydrotherapy pool situated in the day rehabilitation unit (DRU). The hydrotherapy pool is for use by inpatient, day rehabilitation and community patients. This therapy in the pool is supported by a team of dedicated and experienced staff including physiotherapists, allied health assistants and exercise physiologists.

Your care team will discuss options for hydrotherapy treatment.

Hand and foot massage volunteers attend the hospital regularly to provide support and comfort to patients. The massages are freely given and very popular with the patients, adding to the holistic care offered at Calvary Health Care Kogarah.

“The Little Shop”, operated by the Calvary Kogarah Auxiliary, is open daily between 10am – 3pm and sells cards, toiletries and gifts.

At Calvary Health Care Kogarah we offer compassionate emotional support and spiritual care for you, your family and friends. Our pastoral care program acknowledges your beliefs, important relationships and all that is meaningful for you and affirms your intrinsic value as a person.

Members of the pastoral care team can help if you are:

  • Suffering anxiety or emotional distress
  • Experiencing a time of crisis
  • Feeling lonely or isolated
  • Grieving a loss
  • Making important decisions
  • Needing support with your religious/spiritual practice
  • Preparing for death

If you would like a visit from the pastoral care team please ask a staff member to contact someone for you.

Medications brought into the hospital must be given to the nurse or doctor. After review, the doctor will return these medications to a member of your family or carer and these must be taken home. The hospital supplies the generic brands of all medications that may be prescribed for you.

Calvary Health Care Kogarah pharmacy department only provides medications for inpatients as well as some regular outpatients, however, we do not offer prescription services to the public.

Patients may use their mobile phone while at Calvary Health Care Kogarah.

Please be considerate of other patients, and keep call volume, duration and frequency to a minimum.

Snack and drink vending machines are located throughout the hospital and are available 24 hours a day.

Whilst there is no onsite visitor accommodation there are a number of establishments within the local area.

Visitor lounge areas are located throughout the hospital. If you’d like to take a patient to these areas, please check first with their care team.
