Respite Care

Respite care is a type of flexible, short-term care which provides a great way to get the support you need when your regular carer is away, has other day-to-day tasks to undertake or simply needs some time for themselves to rest and recuperate.

If you’re unsure whether our residential aged care accommodation is the right fit for you or your family member, our respite accommodation gives you an opportunity to experience our wonderful care and community feel before you make a formal commitment. Please note respite accommodation is subject to availability.

How long can I stay in respite care?

Respite care can be just a few hours during the day, also known as day respite care, or consist of a longer residential stay for several days or weeks, depending on your needs.

Our residential respite care usually covers a one or two week break in one of our aged care homes, but any individual may stay for up to nine weeks in any financial year. Visit the My Aged Care website for more details.

How much does respite care cost?

The cost of your respite care may vary depending on how long you would like to stay, your level of care needs and your eligibility for financial Government support.

You can find out more about our aged care fees and charges on our website.
