Volunteers

Volunteering is at the heart of Calvary Lenah Valley

We are grateful to our many volunteers who dedicate their time to enhance the care we offer our patients, their families, friends and the community.

The generosity of our volunteers and donors helps us keep alive the Vision of the Venerable Mary Potter and support the most vulnerable in our community.

How you can help

Volunteers are matched to services that draw on their diverse range of skills and interests, including:

  • Magazine distribution to patients

Volunteers need to be genuinely committed and work within their position description, adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines.

Interested in volunteering at Calvary?

At Calvary we are grateful to the wide range of volunteers who dedicate their time to enhance the care we offer patients and visitors. We understand volunteering is an important part of participating in our community. It fosters connection and well-being in many ways. A volunteer is someone who freely gives their time to a not-for-profit organisation to help further its goals. Volunteers are unpaid, but, are highly regarded for the compassionate contribution they make to our community of care.

Patient centred care is at the heart of Calvary and all volunteer roles are designed with this focus. Volunteers actively participate in our community of care, positively contributing to patient recovery and support services. Volunteers are not engaged to assist staff with paid work and do not participate in hospital administration or other paid roles. All volunteer roles include patient and visitor contact.

All our volunteer roles require a commitment of four hours each week for at least 12 months. Work experience is not available through our volunteer program.
