I have worked for Calvary for just under five years. My experience in nursing and caring for family members at their end of life lead me to consider a career in aged and community care.
In my role, I appreciate the lovely people that I deal with each day. It is important to me to be able to solve problems and make a difference.
I enjoy the interaction with both clients and support workers on the phone. I take time to listen to and reassure support workers when they call with a concern and to escalate to my service coordinator as necessary. At times, I worry about some of our clients who are more isolated on their properties, particularly after the death of a partner.
I enjoy the camaraderie within the team at Morwell. Even though we are busier than ever, we can still have a laugh and look after each other. I am inspired by the example of others in the office – the consideration and respect that is shown to everyone. I admire the calm way our coordinator responds to our clients and situations.
