Three generations enjoying each other’s company 18th January 2018 This year Calvary Mt Carmel Retirement Community, in Maitland, introduced a new Mums and Bubs Club. The playgroup involves staff members visiting residents with their babies and small children. The residents and children are able to take part in activities including craft and games together. Manager Krystal James said “Our Resident’s faces instantly lit up when they saw the children. The residents really enjoy interacting with them and are able to bond on a personal level with our staff”. Krystal continued, “For many it brings back memories of times when they were raising their own young children and now gives them the opportunity to watch these babies grow”. This initiative is the work of Leisure and Lifestyle Officer Maria Healy who has organised for this group to be a permanent monthly installment on the Leisure and Lifestyle calendar at the Hunter facility.
