Dealing with death

David Bowie triggers a conversation about the meaning of life and dealing with death

David Bowie’s death has stimulated many conversations about how we prepare for death, psychologically and spiritually. Not all people in palliative care are elderly, and the desire to seek spiritual meaning often comes to the fore for people, their families and carers, when facing mortality.

In one such conversation, Calvary experts Deidre Worm, a former Clinical Educator in Palliative and End of Life Care for CHCA, currently a Clinical Nurse in the Mary Potter Hospice, and Christine McCabe, Pastoral Care Team Leader at Calvary Wakefield, talk about spirituality and ‘Dealing with Death’ as part of an ABC Radio Adelaide Panel Discussion hosted by Sonya Feldhoff.

The discussion explores how we continue to make the most of our lives when we have been advised that death is imminent, and the sort of legacy that we want to leave behind.
