Emergency Department Temporary Changes in Hours of Service at Calvary Hobart

Calvary Hobart prides itself on delivering high quality, safe clinical care to the Hobart community. We have done so for over eighty years, and will continue to do so into the future. Unfortunately due to medical staffing resource constraints, we can confirm that the Emergency Department (ED) at Calvary Hobart, Lenah Valley Hospital will temporarily reduce hours of service, until further notice:

  • Monday 7.30am – Friday 4.00pm

During the closure periods from 4pm Friday to 7.30am Monday, people seeking urgent medical care should contact their General Practitioner (GP) or After-hours GP service, or attend the Emergency Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause the local community, however please be reassured that we are making every effort to ensure a clinically safe ED service is our highest priority.

During these periods, people seeking urgent medical care should contact their General Practitioner (GP) or After-hours GP service, or attend the Emergency Department at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

As we work to resolve our staffing issues as quickly as possible, we will continue to assess the situation and advise the community accordingly via our Website.
