Calvary celebrates 44 years of operation and recognises Janine’s 40 years of service
3rd March 2023
Friday 3 March 2023 saw a lot happening at Calvary Public Hospital Bruce.
We celebrated our 44th birthday with the annual birthday BBQ lunch for staff, which traditionally and today saw the non-clinical staff, senior managers and Executive team prepare and serve lunch for the staff involved in delivering front-line care.
Where staff are not able to get outside and enjoy relaxing with colleagues, meal packs are delivered to the wards to ensure the repast is shared and enjoyed by as many staff as possible.
Our windblown executive team members went above and beyond.
While our staff were less troubled while they grazed the lunch table.
Following the staff lunch a smaller celebration was held in the Calvary Maternity Unit to farewell Janine, the Clinical Midwife Manager of Calvary Special Care Nursery.
Janine is retiring having contributed over 40 years of her life to specialist neonatal services in the ACT, including time at Royal Canberra Hospital, Canberra and Centenary Hospitals, and the past five years at Calvary Public Hospital.
We will miss Janine’s fabulous knowledge, her professionalism, her bubbly and warm personality, her dedication to the care of neonates that need some extra help at the beginning of their life, and her support for the mothers and families of these babies.
From left to right, Judy, Liz, Michelle, Janine and Calvary Public Hospital General Manager Daniel Wood catch up on Janine’s last day.
