Greg Flint Chief Executive Officer at Calvary Mater Newcastle retires

Greg Flint, Chief Executive Officer at Calvary Mater Newcastle, will retire from his position at the end of August 2018.

Greg has had a distinguished career in the health care industry spanning approximately 46 years, of which seven of those have been at Calvary Mater Newcastle.

 Greg Flint, said,

“Deciding to retire was a difficult decision to make. It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Chief Executive Officer at Calvary Mater Newcastle. I have worked in numerous hospitals across New South Wales over the years and there really is no other hospital like the Mater. I will miss the place dearly but more importantly I will miss the very talented, caring, kind and committed staff that give their very best every day to provide high quality and compassionate care to our community. I feel so fortunate to have been Chief Executive Officer at the hospital for the past seven years and will cherish the memories.”

Throughout his career Greg has held numerous health care positions across NSW including General Manager at Wyong Hospital, Tamworth Base Hospital and Health Service, Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Health Service, together with Chief Executive Officer at Anglican Care Hunter and Central Coast.

Fellow staff members have credited Greg for his unprecedented commitment and dedication to providing the very best healthcare to members of the community.

Brenda Ainsworth, National Director Hospitals Calvary, said, “I would like to acknowledge and thank Greg for his strong leadership and dedication to public health over the years. Throughout his career he has always put the patient first and foremost, and now it’s time for him to put himself first! I wish him the very best in his retirement.”

Greg is looking forward to having more time to pursue different personal interests including extensive travel, spending more time on the Central Coast where he lives with his family, exploring the great outdoors and some volunteer work.

Mark Jeffrey has been appointed General Manager at Calvary Mater Newcastle and will commence in his role at the end of August. Mark previously held the position of Executive Director Finance at Hunter New England Local Health District.
