Jack of all trades Max recognised for 30 years of service in Aged Care

Calvary Retirement Communities employee Maxene Vernon (Max) has been recognised for 30 years of service within both Allandale and Calvary sites. Max has worked across many roles in her time at Calvary.

She first commenced work at Allandale Nursing Home, now known as Calvary Cessnock Retirement Community, in 1981 as a Trainee Nurses Aid before leaving to pursue other avenues. Max returned to Allandale working as an Enrolled Nurse and in both the laundry and cleaning teams.

In 1990 Max secured a role in Administration in the purchasing department then as a receptionist before taking on the Cashier Clerk position.

In 1994 Max took some time off after the birth of her daughter Sarah before returning to the Cashier Clerk role. In 1998 Max had her second child Tony and after coming back from leave was deployed back to the Nursing staff.

In 2003 Allandale became Calvary Cessnock and Max worked as an Accounts Receivable Officer and in 2011 she moved into her current role, Account Receivable Coordinator.

“During my 30 years at Calvary I have seen some incredible changes in the methods and equipment used to deliver care to our residents, our processes and technology for which I am grateful. I could not imagine handwriting the 1300 accounts for our residents now! I have also met some amazing and dedicated people and made lifelong friends. My journey is not over yet and I look forward to many more years working for Calvary” said Max.
