Calvary Kooyong featured on Channel 7 news
‘Affordable premium retirement living for retirees has never been better’
We are delighted that Calvary’s new Hyson Apartments, part of Calvary Kooyong’s retirement living, health and residential care precinct in Melbourne, featured in a recent Channel 7 NEWS story exploring the current affordability for premium retirement living (watch the story below or at https://youtu.be/4b8_WCLm7qs).
The story followed a recent report by PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Property Council of Australia finding that affordability for retirees looking to downsize has never been better. Strong house price growth nationally has driven the affordability of independent living units, giving savvy retirees more money to spend on some of life’s luxuries.
The report found that 41% of new developments are now multi-storey and that many people wanting to move into retirement units are looking for premium offerings, lifestyle features and that little bit of luxury in their twilight years.
With 69 retirement apartments over nine floors, the Hyson Apartments tick those boxes and much more, and was featured in the story as a prime example of premium retirement living.
But they are just one part of the landmark Calvary Kooyong precinct. A first of its kind in Australia, Calvary Kooyong brings together premium retirement living, contemporary residential care, Calvary’s quality in-home care, a GP clinic, and Calvary Bethlehem’s existing specialist health services in one location, and takes Calvary’s intent to provide integrated living and care services to another level.
