From humble beginnings…

Mary Potter founded the Little Company of Mary in a stocking factory in 1877 to help care for the sick, the poor and the dying. Calvary was established in 1885 by six courageous Sisters of the Little Company of Mary who sailed from Naples to Sydney on the SS Liguria.

“We are commencing a work in time that is to influence eternity.”

Venerable Mary Potter

Inspired by the Venerable Mary Potter and the work of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary in Australia, Calvary continues to provide high-quality health, community and aged care services throughout Australia.

Calvary now has over 18,000 diverse, compassionate and dedicated staff and volunteers who aim to make a difference in the communities we serve.
