National Palliative Care Week
This week, 24-30 May 2020, is National Palliative Care Week. The theme for this year’s National Palliative Care Week is “Palliative Care: It’s more than you think.”
Palliative and End of Life Care is a special type of care that aims to support people with life limiting illness and their families to live life as well as possible, right to the last breath. Palliative and End of Life Care often enlists multidisciplinary teams of clinicians, and allied and primary health practitioners to meet the needs of the individual and can be provided in hospital, aged care facilities, specialist services or at home.
At Calvary, staff and services providing Palliative and End of Life Care are particularly known for their resourcefulness and flexibility in meeting the changing needs of the people in our care.
Explore stories below from our people across hospital, aged and community care services who are providing palliative and end of life care with creativity and compassion through the COVID-19 pandemic.
