Dr. Ninna Estrella Yuson

Ninna is a consultant at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital and works in private practice with Associate Professor Sam Gue at Adelaide Paediatric Dentistry on Greenhill Road, Dulwich.  She is also an honorary clinical lecturer at the University of Adelaide.

She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 2001 and her postgraduate specialist Certificate and Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA in 2007.  She received her certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and became a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 2009.  She was appointed as clinical assistant professor in 2008 at the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry, University of Michigan School of Dentistry and also served as the director of the Pediatric Hospital Dentistry Service at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.   She received the David M. Weine Award for Outstanding Academic and Clinical Achievements in 2009 and the Lloyd H. Straffon Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentorship in Pediatric Dentistry in 2011.   She is a graduate of the 2010-2012 AAPD Healthy Smiles, Healthy Children Leadership Institute at The Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Chicago, Illinois.

In 2012, she relocated to Adelaide as a fellow at the Paediatric Dentistry Department at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.  She was certified as a dental practitioner by the Australian Dental Council in 2013 and received her specialist registration as a paediatric dentist from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) in 2015. She is on the Committee of the South Australian branch of the the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry.  Ninna believes that providing a dental home for our children starts as early as age 1 and has special interests in providing comprehensive oral health care for children with special needs.
