Sheree Sheather, Respite Coordinator, Star of the Sea Cottage

My journey with Calvary began in 1996. It is hard to believe now that 25 years have passed. Time just flies past.

I started in Community Care in Taree with just 20 packages in the community and four staff.

It has been a very interesting journey for me to say the least as I have been given great opportunities for my personal growth and career path going from a Support Worker right through to now Service Coordinator at Star of the Sea Cottage.

I have met some wonderful people along the way with colleagues and clients alike and had the opportunity to learn from some great people.

I have always enjoyed my job and even more since I took the position at the respite cottage.  I feel like we really make a difference in the lives of all the clients, especially at the Cottage.

I have been blessed to work with great teams who share the common goal of care and excellence.

I still wake up every morning wondering and planning what my day will bring and what I hope to achieve, and like the last 25 year it never goes to plan

I say this with a happy heart as if I have learned one thing on this journey, flexibility is everything.

I look forward to the future if I can make it as I cannot picture myself doing any other job. I still smile when I think about all the clients we have touched over this time and this is what makes it all worthwhile. Everyone should be so lucky.
