Greg’s vagrant loiterer

So, picture the scene.

It’s 1am in the morning and the temperature is plunging below freezing in a typical Canberra winter.

Fog has partially blurred the structure of the multi-storey-car-park opposite Calvary Public Hospital Bruce.

A vagrant without the required parking permits drives his dilapidated station wagon into the car park.

It’s not long before Security arrive.

They quickly ascertained the “vagrant” was simply someone down on his luck seeking shelter for a few hours out of the Canberra elements.

They not only agreed he could stay for the remainder of the night, but found a blanket for him and a thermos of tea to help keep him warm.

I am sure the Venerable Mary Potter would have approved.

Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter ……..?
