Celebrating National Recycling Week
15th November 2017
To celebrate National Recycling Week, we wanted to share a message from Greg Robertson, the Domestic Services Manager here at Calvary Health Care ACT who continues to set high sustainability benchmarks for large businesses in the ACT.
“I am very proud that Calvary have been awarded ACT’s largest recycler three times in the past six years, with a 55% total reduction in waste to landfill.
“We currently separate our waste into 29 different streams to reduce what we send to landfill. Our staff at Calvary continue to come up with new and creative ways of disposing of hospital waste, such as partnering with charities like the Otis Foundation and their Little Blue Towels Project.”
“The way I see it, if Calvary Public Hospital with all the complexities of a healthcare facility can embrace Environmental Sustainability, then any organisation should be able to do it as well”
