Calvary welcomes Japara
5th November 2021
Japara has officially joined Calvary Health Care, effective 5 November 2021. As a result, all 50 Japara aged care homes and 5 retirement villages now operate under the Calvary name.
Founded in Australia in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation.
Bringing our two organisations together represents a unique opportunity to combine our Mission and values and grow our capability and experience across the health, home and aged care sectors.
Our shared vision is to provide safe, high quality integrated care on a greater scale, and extend our Mission of ‘Being for Others’ to help those most vulnerable in our community.
Together, we are one of Australia’s leading health, home and aged care providers with over 18,000 staff and volunteers across 14 Public and Private Hospitals, 72 Residential Care and Retirement Communities and a national network of 19 Community Care service centres.
Calvary now provides aged care services in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania, in addition to our existing communities in New South Wales, ACT, NT and South Australia.
We are well underway with our plans to integrate the two organisations, to ensure a seamless transition and continuation of the care our residents have always valued.
At Calvary, everyone is welcome, and we are excited about the many opportunities that this acquisition will bring to our people and the people we care for.
